What to pack for dance class

So, you’re heading off to your child’s first dance class. Let’s double check that you’re ready to go…

On your dancer:

  1. Proper dance attire: Like a special costume, or a favourite sweater, proper dancewear is important for any dance class. Be sure to check out our 2021/22 Uniform guide here for your dancer’s class attire requirements.

  2. Hair Up: Pony’s, braids and buns… oh my! You’ll want to make sure your dancer’s hair is securely up and out of their face before class. When in doubt, you can’t go wrong with bun pins & a hair net!

  3. Mask on: We are so excited to return to dance, and are committed to doing it safely. Mask-wearing is required at all times.

In their dance bag:

  1. Dance shoes: Last, but most definitely not the least, on the uniform checklist… dance shoes! These special shoes are just for the studio floor, so be sure to wear outdoor shoes on your way to and from the studio.

  2. Water bottle: With all of the leaping and turning we’re going to do, hydration is key when it comes to dance class. P.S. We have a filtered water tap on-site for refills!

  3. A clean paper/ ziplock baggie with an extra mask inside: Like we said… safety first! We recommend keeping a clean mask in the student’s dance bag in case their mask becomes wet throughout the class.

Before you go:

  1. Snap a cute “first day of dance” photo! Your dancer is already decked out their uniform, so it’s the perfect time to capture the excitement. Pro tip: Instead of “cheese,” you could always count them in with a 5, 6, 7 8!

Congratulations! You are officially ready to head off to dance class. We’ll see you outside in the courtyard/lobby soon.
